It is easy to build, construct and erect a wire dipole antenna for the HF band 40 metres,  using a few simple components at a minimal cost and get great results.

  •  Dipole arm length (inverted V 120 °) in meters: 9.993
  •  Frequency in KHz: 7100

  •  ..the dipole resonates very well at 21.5 Mhz

L-BAND SATELLITES

Inmarsat owns and operates the world’s most reliable L-band satellite network. Our BGAN, FleetBroadband and SwiftBroadband voice and data and Internet of Things (IoT) machine-to-machine (M2M) services deliver connectivity anywhere. With the arrival of 5G, satellite communications will play an important part in transforming the way we live and work, by extending coverage and new capabilities into the seas, the skies and rural and remote areas to power an always-on global digital society.

*** Reception test ***

  • I noticed that I was touching the RTLSDR I had a slight discomfort, as if a slight tension passed. I connected the ground wire of my electrical system to the dongle and the annoyance went away. I have seen that the RTLSDR heats up much less after about 12 hours of WSPR reception and I get more WSPR transmitting stations. This is just an easy idea. Good reception. 😉
Buona ricezione. 😉

  •   WSPR, reception on 20m - 40m and 30m band tonight with automatic frequency       RaspberryPi   - RTLSDR V.3 and WSPRD 😋

I removed the 1st IF signal from the FT100 before the filter of this IF, at 68.985 MHz, where the band is still very wide, and we connected it to the RTL-SDR, thus obtaining a panoramic receiver, controllable both in HDSDR that FT100 via CAT (under development), and with a flat band higher than 2 MHz as seen in the spectrum in the following figure.

Radio Frequency measurament with a simple sonda for the digital test

The RF probe is one of the most comfortable accessories you can have in our lab.
Using only 3 electronic components, one can accomplish one of the simplest and cheapest homebrew projects.
What is an RF probe, and how does it work?
One could think of an RF probe as a special tip that converts the radio frequency into normal DC, readable on our digital tester.
