Connection of the students of Lipari (ME) with Luca Parmitano

It is counted down to Lipari, to the comprehensive school, due to the expected connection of the students with the space station where Luca Parmitano operates. The Messina school of the island is the only one in Italy to connect with the astronaut, and the "count down" is for tomorrow morning, Saturday 7 December 2019.

The entire technical part of the connection is handled by A.R.E. - Aeolian Amateur Radio Association, which after having prepared the necessary complex technologies and supported the series of mandatory tests, is now ready to support the entire operational phase of the connection.

The students, on the other hand, after having elaborated the questions that will be asked of the commander Parmitano, and after they have passed the screening of the Space Agency, have dedicated their time to investigate the various aspects of the event, elaborating original materials of various kinds that will be exhibited and illustrated during the event, with the support of their teachers.

The exciting morning for the boys of the Lipari schools will begin at 10 am, with the presentation, in the main hall of the Santa Lucia complex, of the project and the educational activities developed by the students with their teachers.

At noon, with the arrival of parents, guests and authorities, the connection with the International Space Station will be prepared, which will take place at 12.40. Only pupils already identified and authorized by the space agency will put live audio questions to the commander Parmitano who will answer each student in the following. For 15 minutes, the children will be able to converse with the astronaut who orbits the Earth, turning their curiosity to him.
